... AS PART OF THE SUMMER 2006 INITIATIVE.


al-Istiqaamah {Uprightness in faith} is the forthcoming seminar with Daarul Athaar. It is dedicated to benefitting the wider Gambian society within the Banjul and Kombo regions.

The Courses shall be conducted {by the will of Allah} in the local languages {Wollof and Mandinko} as well as in English.

The Seminar is open to males as well as females.

Part of the Summer 2006 project. DAG is to host  {by the will of Allah}, a week-long seminar entitled "as-Sunnah".

The seminar is specifically dedicated to the Arabic students studying in the various Islamic institutions within The Gambia. All courses shall therefore be taught in the Arabic langauage.

Another two seminars for the wider society are anticipated in early July {inshaAllah}.

{No. 446/2003}. It has been established in the year 2003, hoping that we can cooperate with one another upon righteousness and piety.

We are based in the West African nation of the Gambia.

We dedicate this website to our fellow brothers and sisters in The Gambia who have stood up to lead their lives in accordance with the path of their Lord, and to the entire Muslim nation.

Our aim is to spread the authentic teachings of Islam by sharing the little we know online – insha Allah.

Establishing learning centres for the Gambian people. Calling to the creed of tawheed {making all our religion for the sake of Allah only}. Hoping by this to spread the Sunnah among the population.

Stretching out a helping hand to schools and institutions that teach Islam. Building solid relationships with the urban and rural communities. Targeting special students for international scholarships to Saudi and Yemen for study.
Sowing those precious seeds in The Gambian soil for harvesting a brighter Islam tomorrow – inshaAllah. Cultivation upon the Qur`an and Sunnah.

OUR CURRENT PROJECTS:


Summer 2006 Project.

Construction of DAG education centre for Islamic sciences.

Support and management of Koloro village Quranic school for children.

Establishing DAG Islamic community library.

Providing Iftaar for the fasting on Mondays and Thursdays in Tallinding mosque.

Book collections in Madina, KSA. 200kg of beneficial da`wah material to be shipped to The Gambia for distribution.

Sponsor a Gambian student to further his studies in Dammaaj {Yemen}.


OUR ACHIEVEMENTS.

al-Hidaayah. Week-long seminar encouraging the Gambian youth to know their religion and connecting them to the scholars.

Article distributions, summer 2005.

Relief. Financial aid provided to needy brothers and sisters around Kombo.

Feed the children. Providing lunches for the contestants of a Qur`an competition.

Ramadaan. Leaflets and articles pertaining to the rulings of saum {fasting} distributed.

Articles on Tawheed printed in the Independent newspaper during Ramadaan 2003.
